Parish nabs suspect Green

VIDALIA — After six months of searching, the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested the 29-year-old Vidalia man who allegedly shot and injured a Fayette man Oct. 8.

Gary S. Green, 337 Concordia Park Drive, was booked and charged with attempted second-degree murder Wednesday night after the CPSO transported Green to the parish from San Antonio.

Green was being held in San Antonio under the custody of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Green waived his right to formal extradition and was held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center until CPSO could arrive.

Green was arrested in connection with the shooting of 24-year-old Fayette resident James Martin.

According to the CPSO, Martin was allegedly shot twice in the head with a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol by Green.

According to family members, Martin is still recuperating from the injuries he sustained.

The shooting occurred on Concordia Park Drive in Concordia Park subdivision near Vidalia.

According to CPSO investigations, the shooting reportedly stemmed from an alleged altercation between Martin and a female juvenile, who was Green’s juvenile sister.
