NATCHEZ — Services for Frances McKnight, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 11, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. McKnight was born May 8, 1925, in Adams County, the daughter of Richard Rice and Mary Alice Ballard Early. She was a member of Second Union Baptist Church and a member of Good Samaritan St. Claire Lodge No. 23 LF&C Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 11 brothers; five sisters; one grandchild; and two sons.

Survivors include one son, James McKnight; three daughters, Gloria Belton, Francis Marie McKnight and Martha Ann Blake, all of Natchez; three sisters, Ida Newman, Gertrude Wilson and Alma Fleming, all of Natchez; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Deloris Wilson and Linda Logan; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Logan, Travis Logan, James Bindon, Cornelius Isaac, Arminus Evans and Torrey James.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Belton Jr., James McKnight and Raymone Bowman.
