Mr. and Mrs. Bryant O. Hammett Jr. of Ferriday announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Hammett to Paul James Tanner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Tanner Jr. of Baton Rouge.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is employed by Hannis T. Bourgeois as a certified public accountant in Baton Rouge.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. O’Dare Hammett of Ferriday and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lazarus of Jonesville.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and is also a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is currently attending Southern University Law School in Baton Rouge.

He is the grandson of Mrs. James Jolly Sr. and the late Mr. Jolly of Baton Rouge and the late Judge Thomas Tanner and Dorothy Tanner.

The wedding will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Baton Rouge.
