STAMPLEY — Services for Joe Anderson, 80, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Anderson was born May 13, 1930, in Fayette, the son of Simon Anderson and Beulah Green Anderson. He was a retired tire builder with Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Murlee Morgan Anderson.

Survivors include seven children, Joyce Griffin and husband, Franklin, Katie Anderson and husband, Otis Ray, and Katherine Richards, all of Natchez, JoAnn Proctor of Stone Mountain, Ga., Joey Anderson of Terry, Joe Anderson Jr. and wife, Sharhonda, of Baton Rouge, and Angela Broussard of Dallas; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Carro Lee Frye; one brother, Harvey Anderson and wife, Bessie, all of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends
