Jefferson County escapee captured

JACKSON — Jefferson County Community Work Center inmate Mitchell L. Stringfellow has been captured.
Stringfellow left his work detail at the Jefferson County Bus Barn in Fayette at approximately 1 p.m. today.
He was captured this evening at 6:10 p.m. by Mississippi Department of Corrections officials and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies. He was apprehended off of U.S. 61 in a wooded area within two miles of the work detail he escaped from.
Stringfellow is serving a three-year sentence for convictions of three counts of grand larceny and four counts of burglary from George County.
