NATCHEZ — At the request of The Natchez Democrat, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Vicksburg District released a map Saturday estimating areas of the Natchez-Vidalia area that may be affected by flooding, including backwater flooding of Mississippi River tributaries.

The Corps inundation map includes areas of Natchez, Vidalia and portions of Adams County and Concordia Parish.

The map clearly shows the mainline levees along the Mississippi are expected to hold back the flood waters.
