BUDE — Services for Louis Lee Sterling Sr., 69, formerly of Liberty, who died Friday, May 6, 2011,in Metairie, La., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Whittington Memorial Church in Liberty.
Burial will follow at Whittington Memorial Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mr. Sterling was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Liberty, the son of Dallie Paul Sterling and Neta Bell Larimore Sterling.
Mr. Sterling was a U.S. Navy veteran, member of the Moisant Lions Club, a member of the VFW Post in Crosby and a member of the American Legion Post No. 396. He retired from Delta Airlines after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved first wife, Sarah Frances Cotton Sterling; and his sister, Catherine Umbrello.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Karen M. Guinn Sterling; three loving children, Louis L. Sterling Jr., Shelia and husband Thad Savoy and Tracy Sterling; one devoted brother, James “Jim” H. Sterling; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandsons; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
