NATCHEZ — Services for James H. “Kookie” Johnson, 65, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 1, 1945, in Natchez, the son of William Cleve Johnson and Henrietta Wiley Johnson. He was retired from Diamond International as a wet-in operator.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Zion Chapel AME Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include Stephanie Cage and husband, Willie, Renza Grennell and husband, Jonathan Sr., Joyce Johnson and husband, Robert Jr., William Cleve Johnson Jr. and wife, Mary L., and Verna Wallace and husband, Willie, all of Natchez, and Claborn “C.M.” Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio; five aunts, Lillian Adams, Elmarie Johnson and Laura Hogget, all of Natchez, Willa B. O’Leary of Martinez, Calif., and Gwen Johnson of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
