NATCHEZ — Services for Mabel L. Calcote, 97, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Meadville Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Kingston.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Roxie under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Calcote was born March 12, 1914, the daughter of Hubert Wood and Jessie McMinn Wood. She was a homemaker and a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lydia Wiems; son, William Prentis; sister, Estell Calcote and brother, Hubert Wood.

Survivors include one son, M.J. Calcote of Natchez; two daughters, Minnie Deaton of Greensferry, Ark., and Helen Wilson of Escalon, Calif.; sister, Nancy Wilkerson; 15 grandchildren, Anita Weeper, William Calcote, Chuck Wilson, Theresa Hoff, Scarlette Townsend, Chris Wiens, David O’Mara, Cheyenne Calcote, Darthea Garwood, Bridgett Horton, Patti Webb, Marvin Calcote, Rebecca Calcote, Rachel Calcote and Elizabeth Calcote and a number of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
