NATCHEZ — Police Chief Mike Mullins said there is evidence indicating that Quinton B. Brown was murdered by someone he knew.
Brown, 17, was found dead Saturday morning by a passerby in the Natchez City Cemetery.
Mullins said police have leads in the case and they’re interviewing suspects, but no arrests have been made.
Adams County Coroner James Lee said Saturday that Brown was seemingly shot in the cemetery and left to die.
Lee said he believed Brown’s body had been in the cemetery for at most two or three hours before police were notified at approximately 7 a.m.
Brown suffered five shots, three to his chest, one to his back and one to his head.
The investigation is ongoing, and Mullins would not provide further details.
