NATCHEZ — Services for Makenzi Ann Rushing Jackson, 30, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 30, 2011, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson and the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jackson was born Oct. 27, 1980, in New Orleans, the daughter of Charles Thomas Rushing and Rebecca A. Rushing Jacobson. She was a 1999 graduate of Natchez High School where she was a Lady Blues and a cheerleader. She was known as “Kenzi” by some friends and family. She was a very compassionate, outgoing and loving person.
Makenzi often referred to her husband as “hubby” and her daughter as “baby girl.” Her family meant everything to her and she was deeply loved by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband, Bryan Clyde Jackson; two children, Cayde Jackson and Arington Elizabeth Jackson; one sister, Kirstie E. Jacome and husband, Dr. Thomas Jacome, of Baton Rouge; one brother, Arin T. Rushing of Natchez; her mother and stepfathers, Steven D. Jacobson of Fort Worth, Texas and Paul Anderson of Natchez; father and mother-in-law, Clark and Marilyn Jackson of Natchez; grandparents, Patricia Woodward Newsom, Andy and Robert Anderson, all of Natchez, Anne Shaffer of New York and Charles and Beverly Rushing of Monterey; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Clark Jackson Jr., Carey Jackson, Jacob Harrison, Chris Carney, David Donald and Andy Alaniz.
