KIRBY — Services for Vater Marie Harris Brown, 63, of Roxie, who died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Kirby.

Burial will follow at Hunt Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 15, 1947, in Roxie, the daughter of Walter and Rachel Hunt Harris.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Columbus Brown; her mother; three daughters, Cathy Brown Lee and husband, Bill, Julia Brown Orji and husband, Emanauel, and Janet Marie Brown; two sons, Lonnie Brown and Ricky Gray; one sister, JoeAnn Childs and husband, James; three brothers, Walter Harris Jr. and wife, Denotra, Ray C. Harris and wife, Bobbie, and Craig S. Harris and wife, Marjorie, five grandchildren, Cameron Lee, Mary Ann Orji, Adrianna Gray, Mia Gray and Cory Lee; two godsisters; one niece; four nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.
