NATCHEZ — Natchez native Hank Wiley made his way back home to face off against Kalama Jr. in the main event of the All-Star Pro Wrestling slate Saturday at the Natchez City Auditorium, but the match did not go nearly as well as Wiley had hoped.

Wiley dropped a tough match against Kalama Jr. and also came away with a knee injury that will sideline him for a while, he said.

Although Wiley lost the match, and suffered an injury, he said he really enjoyed coming home to wrestle.

“I want to thank everybody for coming out and participating,” Wiley said.

Wiley said the injury will keep him out of competition, but he hopes to make his way back in the ring before All-Star Pro Wrestling returns to his hometown.

“I love (coming back to Natchez). I’m hoping to come back soon,” Wiley said. “I couldn’t be sure (about when we will return to wrestle), but hopefully in the next month or two.”

Wiley said the turnout was not what he expected, but he appreciates all of his fans.

“I know there was a lot of things going on in Natchez,” Wiley said. “I enjoy coming back and appreciate all the fans that came and those that couldn’t.”

Wiley said the fans that did make it to the event were rooting for their hometown man.

“(The fans) were on my side,” Wiley said. “A lot of my family was there, and they loved it. They were disappointed I lost though.”

Mad Mexx from Spike TV’s show “Half Pint Brawlers” also wrestled at the event. He won his match against Little Tiny.

Wiley said he is unsure of when he will wrestle again, but he is going to a doctor next week.
