NATCHEZ — Services for George T. “Ninny” Rouse Jr., 81, of Natchez, who died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at McNeely Road Church of God with the Rev. Tom Tapley, the Rev. Steve Bullion and the Rev. Julius Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Rouse was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Natchez, the son of George T. Rouse Sr. and Candida Verucchi Rouse.
George or “Ninny” as he was known by his family and friends fought a courageous battle. As he left for his final home, he was surrounded by his loving family. George was never at a loss for words and enjoyed laughter with his friends and family.
Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Rouse.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Rouse of Natchez; four children, Jackie Rouse of Natchez, Tony Rouse of Meadville, Tyanna Rasberry of McCall Creek and Erin Farra and husband, Scott, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepchildren, Chandler Hall of CLarksville, Tenn. and Brad Hall of Natchez; five grandchildren, Will Rouse and Gabe Rouse, both of Natchez, Brittany Rasberry of Oxford, Sumer Rasberry of McCall Creek and Taylor Farra of Jacksonville; three brothers, Raymond Rouse and wife, Jackie, of Jonesville, Tom Rouse and wife, Bobbie Jo and Jerry Rouse, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Aplin, Trey Rouse, Chris Rouse, Billy Rouse, Will Rouse and Jason Free.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Hall, Brad hall, Cecil Burlison, Cecil Earl Ezell, Patrick Duffy, Buddy Rouse, Tom Rouse Jr., Greg Rouse, Mark Rouse and Earl McElroy.
Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital or the Heavenly Hands PuppetTeam of McNeely Road Church of God.
