NATCHEZ — Natchez Police have linked three more burglaries to a man already in their custody, Lt. Craig Godbold said.

George S. Hall, 1001 Aster St., Baton Rouge, was originally arrested in the early morning hours of June 18 and charged with one count of felony burglary June 19.

He allegedly stole from vehicles in the South Temple Road and Forest Drive area, Godbold said.

“He was apprehended after one of the homeowners caught (Hall) in his vehicle,” he said. “The homeowner chased him in his vehicle and called the police to say where (Hall) was.”

Godbold said Hall wrecked his vehicle, and police caught him after he began to run.

At the time of arrest, Hall was in possession of stolen items, Godbold said.

“At the time we didn’t know they were all stolen,” he said.

Hall stole items such as loose change — he stole three quarters from one vehicle — pocketknives and cell phones, Godbold said.

“We have a couple of other items that were stolen from (the South Temple Road and Forest Drive) area, but people don’t know they’re missing them yet,” he said.

Anyone with missing items should contact NPD, because the police department might have them, Godbold said.

Godbold said Hall has a history of arrests.

“In ’07 he was arrested in Natchez for numerous car burglaries,” he said.

Godbold said Hall left NPD’s jurisdiction to face charges of burglary in Louisiana, then went there to serve time and has since been released on probation.

Mississippi is holding Hall for probation violations, and he should have his first court date either today or Friday, Godbold said.
