NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Services for Marlene Chisholm Cooley, 71, of North Augusta, S.C., who died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Abilene Baptist Church with Dr. William F. Harrell officiating.

Burial with Veteran’s Honors will be at 3 p.m. at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, N.C., under the direction of Posey Funeral Directors in North Augusta.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Cooley was a native of Charlotte and a former resident of Natchez. For the past nine years, she made North Augusta her home.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Donald Lee Ballard.

Survivors include one son, John Cooley of Clover, S.C.; three daughters, Janet Ballard and Anne Floyd and husband, Ted, all of Natchez, and Elizabeth Bramlett and husband, Barry, of Evans, Ga.; one brother, Tom Chisholm of Charlotte; a close friend, Melanie James; seven grandchildren, Nichole Ballard, Elizabeth Floyd, Jasmine Floyd, Betsy Bramlett, Nathan Bramlett, Shane Kokko and Benjamin Kokko.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Kay Meeks Sunday School Class.
