NATCHEZ — The Adams County Christian School Athletic Boosters are gearing up for their annual golf scramble set for Saturday, July 23, at Duncan Park.
Funds raised at the scramble will support the various athletic programs at the school, and ACCS baseball coach Hunter McKeivier said golf is a good way to get people to participate.
“This will be our fourth year in the last five,” McKeivier said. “Three years ago we didn’t do one, and since then we’ve tried to really fire it back up.
“Mostly during the summer months, golf is easier to really get going. A lot of people love events like this, because it’s a four-man scramble. There’s a lot of camaraderie and joking around. They’re a lot of fun.”
The entry fee for the scramble is $50 per player, which includes cart rental, green fees and a barbecue brisket dinner. Prizes will be given to the first-, second- and third-place finishers in each flight. The field will be limited to the first 24 paid teams.
Hole sponsorship is available for $100, where the name of the sponsor will be placed next to the tee box on the hole sponsored. Donations for door prizes will also be accepted.
McKeivier said Duncan Park is an ideal location, and he said the booster club has enjoyed its partnership with Duncan Park.
“It’s what I grew up on, and it’s always been a beautiful course,” McKeivier said. “We have a good reputation with the officials out there, and lately the course has been in great shape. It’s always worked to our advantage to work with them.”
Tee times will begin at 9 a.m. July 23. For more information, call McKeivier at 601-498-9647.
