MOBILE, Ala. — Services for Annie Ruth Carr “Pete” Jones, 97, of Natchez, formerly of Mobile, Ala., who died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at her home, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Mobile with the Rev. Terry Richey officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Mobile.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Jones was born in Neely, the younger daughter of Nora Hillman and Malcolm Boney Carr. She was a longtime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church while living in Natchez the past five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett Rhodes Jones; two brothers, Alton and DeVan Carr; and one sister, Louise Green.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Mize and husband, Richard, of St. Augustine, Fla., Jane McCluney and husband, Allen, of Germantown, Tenn., and Cindy Meng and husband, Joe, of Natchez; five grandchildren, Wesley McCluney and wife, Kim, of Atlanta, Richard McCluney and wife, Trish, of Tupelo, Katie Greer Tillman and husband, Clifford, of Natchez, Sara Greer of Jackson and Rob Greer of Hattiesburg; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to Dr. Stubbs and Dr. Serio, the family extends their thanks to Cindy Jenkins, Mark Newman, Georgia Carroll, Sherrie McClatchy and Jackie White who provided care for Mrs. Jones during her illness. A special debt of gratitude should also be extended to Ruth Malone and Linda Williams who were such compassionate caregivers.
Pallbearers will be Randy Kogon, Robert Greer, Jeff Murphy and Tim Holston, all of Mobile, Robert Meador of Birmingham, Ala., and Spencer Stutzman of Natchez.
