VIDALIA — Services for James A. “Smitty” Smith, 53, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 24, 2011, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Smith was born Nov. 24, 1957, in Vidalia, the son of Rosa Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Olza Cathern and Auguster Cathern; one sister, Willie “Ruth” Smith; and one brother, Henry Marshall Smith.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Brenda Smith; one daughter, Christy Marshall; one son, Corey Riggs; three grandchildren, Kordashia Riggs, Kaylee Dorsey and Fexlia Bethly, all of Natchez; six sisters, Ollie Washington and husband, Huey, of Missouri City, Texas, Rosie Lee Matchett, Pearl Long and husband, George, Leatrice Dickens and husband, Reginald, and Mary Smith, all of Vidalia, and Jacqueline Smith of Fresno, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
