BROOKHAVEN — Services for Patricia Baldwin Thames, 69, of Ruth, who died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Haven Hall Nursing Home in Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello.

Mrs. Thames was a member of the Eastern Star, Topisaw Order No. 326 and was a beloved teacher for a number of years. She retired from the Natchez public school system after 30 years of teaching. A member of the faculty of Southern Mississippi Natchez Branch, she worked as a teacher in Woodville for two years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Douglas “Doug” Baldwin and Elizabeth Graber Baldwin.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle Thames; one sister, Josephine Young of Natchez; one brother, Doug “Buddy” Baldwin of Brandon; three nieces, Lisa Jordan Dale of Natchez, DeAnn Sullivan of Destrehux, La., and Nicole Allen of Brandon; one nephew, Doug Baldwin of Brandon; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
