FERRIDAY — Services for John “Hook” “Buddy” Jefferson Jr., 56, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater St. Reed Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will follow at Consurella Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jefferson was born March 8, 1955, in Ferriday, the son of John Jefferson Sr. and Louise Brady Jefferson. He was employed as a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina Knoten; one brother, Issac Jefferson; and his father.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hines Jefferson; his mother; three sons, Carlos Hines, Galen Jefferson and Perryman Travers, all of Ferriday; three daughters, Anitra Jefferson and Danielle Jefferson, both of Ferriday, and Kia Jefferson of Natchez; three brothers, Abe Jefferson, Connie Jefferson and wife, Patricia, all of Ferriday, and Eddie Jefferson and wife, Paulette, of New Orleans; four sisters, Dorethy Matthews and husband, Larry, of Natchez, Mary Jefferson and Johnnie Hudnall, both of Vidalia, and Margaret Hall of Ferriday; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one uncle; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
