FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Gene McLain, 66, of Vidalia, who died Friday, July 15, 2011, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, with Bro. Richard Cullum officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until the time of service.

Mr. McLain was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Monroe, La., and passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, in Vidalia. He was a resident of Vidalia, a farmer, truck driver and a member of the Baptist Faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enock Eugene McLain Sr., and Willie Mae McLain.

Survivors include his wife Joyce; two brothers, Jerry McLain and wife Sandra, and Scotty McLain and his Shelia; and three sisters, Judy Spencer of Lafayette, La., Jan McLain of Ferriday, La., and Sussie Wickman of Atlanta.

Pallbearers will be Ray Micheau, Glen Micheau, David Micheau, Raymond Bonnette, Bud Metcalf and David Eames.
