NATCHEZ — Ten firearms were reportedly stolen from a residence on Auburn Avenue over the weekend while the homeowner was at the hospital, a Natchez Police report says.

A neighbor of the house’s resident reported the guns missing at 12:24 p.m. Monday.

The neighbor said she had been looking over her neighbor’s house while he was at Promise Hospital in Ferriday. She noticed the apparent burglary when she arrived at his house Monday after spending the weekend out of town, the report says.

A suspect apparently removed the rear bedroom window air conditioning unit and entered the house through the window, the report said. The window unit was left on the ground near the house, the report says.

The neighbor said a variety of firearms, including .22-caliber guns, .45-caliber guns and .30-30 rifles, were stolen.

The neighbor said she would try to attain serial numbers of the guns to report to police, the report says.
