NATCHEZ — Services for Gena Scarborough Farris, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Randall officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Wednesday until service time at the church.

Mrs. Farris was born July 9, 1926, in Yazoo City, the daughter of Jesse Perry and Annis Spiers Perry. She was a longtime member of Springfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Lacy Scarborough Stampley.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Farris Jr.; four children, Madeline Wilson and husband, Larry, of Starkville, Irwin Scarborough and wife, Shelly, of Gulfport, Patricia Nerren and husband, Clark, of Natchez and Terry Lynn Farris and wife, Charlene, of Pelahatchie; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jack McCall, David Atkins, Kevin Campbell, Griff Toney, Danny Mullins and Robert Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Cole, Billy Smith and James Sanders.

The family extends thanks to Dr. Barry Tillman and Camelia Hospice for their care.
