LAFAYETTE, La. — A celebration of life service for Bill Jerry Pittman Jr., 57, of Lafayette, La., who died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Lafayette General Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at David Funeral Home in Lafayette with the Rev. Humphries officiating.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pittman was born Oct. 19, 1953, in Gloster, the son of Bill Jerry Pittman Sr. and Emogene Hastings Pittman. He moved to Natchez during his childhood years. He was a graduate of Natchez High School and moved to Lafayette with his family in 1989.

Mr. Pittman’s avid love for fishing, hunting, family, friends and life will be remembered most of all. His humor and laughter touched people (even nurses) up until his very last days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Golden Pittman; his daughter, Melissa Pittman Goudeau; one son, Clinton Lucius Pittman; one brother, Bobby Ellender; one sister, Judy P. Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Porter, Lane Browning, David Jones, Robert Jones, Bobby Ellender Jr. and Marvin Dumesnil.
