NATCHEZ — Three men said they plan to make an unconventional entrance Under-the-Hill at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday.

Bowman Hitchens, Max Zoghbi and Rob Treppendahl will paddle their kayaks in as part of their journey down the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca to New Orleans.

They started the trip June 21 in hopes of raising funds for the Gardere Community Christian School and the Interfaith Compassion Ministries of Oxford, an organization that aids the homeless, according to their website, awakeinthecurrent.com.

The men will stay in Natchez for the night before beginning their voyage again Sunday in hopes of ending it Aug. 20, according to the website.
