WINTER PARK, Fla. — Mabel Shields Locke, 70, of Winter Park, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011.

Arrangements were under the directions of Dove Funeral Home in Orlando, Fla.

Mabel was born and raised in Mississippi and was employed for a number of years in the insurance industry, meeting and marrying her husband there. After moving to Winter Park, she continued working in the insurance field until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Alfred Curtis “Trey” Locke III; her parents; and her brothers.

Survivors include her husband, A.C. “Curt” Locke Jr.; one son, John Locke of Winter Park; and one sister, Audrey Shields of Johnson City, Tenn.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.
