FERRIDAY — Services for Michael Louis Bowers, 60, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, in New Orleans after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Varando officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowers was born Dec. 31, 1950, in New Orleans, the son of Philip and Ruth Bowers.
Mr. Bowers served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring at the rank of master sergeant in 1991. After his retirement he was employed by Colvin’s Durable Medical Equipment. He was a member of the Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church in Ferriday.
Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Regena Moore Bowers; one son, Benjamin Michael Bowers; one daughter, Amy Orcutt and husband, Bud, all of Monterey; one brother, Kenneth Bowers of Troutdale, Va.; and five grandchildren, Armanda, Ethan, Bryanna, Brendan and Jonathan.
Pallbearers will be Ben Bowers, Bill Colvin, David Crews, Donnie Moore, Kenneth Hedrick and Paul Riggs.
