RIDGECREST — Services for Robert Arthur “Bobby” Armstrong, 54, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Bush and the Rev. Preston Holder officiating.
Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, both at the church.
Mr. Armstrong was born Sept. 20, 1956, in Ferriday, the son of Marion Arthur Armstrong and Dorothy White Armstrong. He was employed as a paramedic/instructor and a was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Christopher Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jan Armstrong; two sons, Robert Blair Armstrong and wife, Sarah, and Joseph Christopher Armstrong, all of Vidalia; one sister, Marian Jean Emfinger and husband, Douglas, of Ridgecrest; two grandsons, Noah Michael Armstrong and Marion Jams Armstrong; one granddaughter, Eden Elizabeth Grace Armstrong; and five nieces, Theresa Clark, Rebecca Clark, Rhonda Kammerdeiner, Ashley Armstrong and Amber Armstrong.
Pallbearers will be Randy Sikes, Nathan Steele, Nolen Cothren, Paul Cangemi, Tommy Barron and Jay Barron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Carlton and the members of the EMS community.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Young’s Funeral Home to help with medical expenses.
