JACKSON (AP) — An Adams County resident died after a trailer detached from the truck that was pulling it, crossing the Interstate 20 median and hitting two cars.

Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green said the accident happened Wednesday morning.

Andre Brown, 40, of Natchez, was driving a Dodge Stratus and badly injured and later died.

The driver of a Toyota Camry also was injured and taken to a Jackson hospital.

The westbound lanes of I-20 near I-220 in Jackson were closed during much of the morning rush hour because of the accident.
