GLOSTER β Services for Evelyn C. Seale, 86, of Gloster, who died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Gloster with the Rev. Elwood Crews officiating.
Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Seale was born March 13, 1925 in Natchez, the daughter of Larry Lafayette Clough and Etta Nerren Clough. She was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, where she worked as an operator-clerk for 39 years. For the last 20 years she wrote a weekly column for the Wik-Amite Record newspaper. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gloster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Louis Seale Jr.; two infant boys; sister, Joan Clough; two special cousins, Emma Rae Simmons and Wayne Thompson; her aunt Charlie Mae Poston and her special friend, Dorothy McLain.
Survivors include three sons, Robert L. βRobβ Seale III and wife, Judith of Houma, La., Rick Seale of Gloster and Randy Seale and wife, Kimberly of Slidell, La.; one daughter, Kim Donaldson and her husband, Stephen of Gloster; eight grandchildren, Tony Seale, Chirssie Seale, Emily Kimberly, Gabriel Seale, Eva Seale, Benjamin Seale, Jessica Donaldson and Chrystal Bourgeois; four great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Edna Norman of Henderson, Texas and Peggy Plyler of Lancaster, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Charles Seale of Gulf Shores, Ala., and one sister-in-law, Jeannie Seale of Patterson, La.
