Tuesday, Aug. 16:


Christopher Young pleaded guilty to sale of a schedule II controlled substance — cocaine — on Nov. 26, 2008. Defendant violated the terms and conditions of his five years probation: rule numbered four — do not have in his possession nor use alcoholic beverages, marijuana, narcotics or other controlled substances; rule numbered 10 — do not violate any laws of the United States. Probation is revoked and the defendant must serve the remaining balance of his sentence in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.



Monday, Aug. 15:


Christopher L. Young was indicted by a grand jury of two counts of uttering a forgery on Aug. 5, 2011. On Aug. 15, his probation was revoked and he was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In light of the probation revocation and sentencing, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.Young was indicted by a grand jury of aggravated assault and armed robbery another case on April 8, 2011. On Aug. 15, 2011, his probation was revoked and he was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In light of the probation revocation and sentencing in Cause #08-KR-0231(A)-S, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.



Thursday, Aug. 4:


Travis Weems pleaded guilty to one count of Burglary of an Automobile. Sentenced to the Regimented Inmate Program with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with the Court retaining jurisdiction for one year. The Court will withhold the felony conviction until completion of the RID Program. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200. Pursuant to the plea agreement, the remaining counts of the indictment are dismissed.



Monday, Aug. 1:


Randerick M. Patterson pleaded guilty to armed robbery through the use of a deadly weapon, a firearm. Sentenced to 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving 10 years, the remaining balance to be served on post-release supervision for 10 years, with the first five years to be formal reporting post-release supervision through the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by five years of informal non-reporting post-release supervision. Must pay restitution of $1,292.00, all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200.00.
Dewayne M. Young pleaded guilty to Burglary of a Dwelling. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving five years, the remaining 10 years to be served on post-release supervision. The first five years to be served on formal reporting post-release supervision and the remaining five years on non-reporting supervision through the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Defendant is to receive full credit for all time served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200. Pursuant to the plea agreement, other charges are dismissed.
David Coleman pleaded guilty to simple robbery. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Defendant to receive credit for any time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must receive intensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation and treatment by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Travis Weems was indicted by a grand jury for burglary of a church on April 8, 2011. He pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile and was sentenced accordingly. In light of the plea of guilty and sentencing and per agreement with the defendant, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.

Davarius J. Clemons, 19, charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Case dismissed – two other defendants took responsibility and pleaded guilty and at recommendation of officers.
Cindy Lynn Smith, 30, found not guilty after trail of disturbing the peace. Smith was also found guilty of misdemeanor false information. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $394.
Larry E. Smith, 21, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $539.
Gerald V. West, 58, pleaded guilty to DUI 1st offense test results. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Fine set at $730 West was also charged with possession of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle. Case remanded to files in consideration of guilty plea and waiver of appeal.
