WOODVILLE — Services for Mildred Rodgers Townley, 92, a lifelong resident of Woodville, who died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at her daughter’s residence in Woodville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville with the Rev. Tom Sexton and the Rev. Pat Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Woodville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Townley was born May 8, 1919, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of William Alonzo Rodgers and Cuba Jones Rodgers. She was an operator for the telephone company. She was a member of Woodville Christian Church.

Mrs. Townley was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal D. Townley; her parents; and one son, David Townley Jr.

Survivors include one daughter, Lauretta Logan and husband, Mike; one sister, Oleta Wilkinson Burcham of Woodville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Brian Channel, Kyle Logan, Joseph Logan, Joel Cupit, Larry Dennard, Mikal Rodgers, Logan Channel and Rob Channel.

Honorary pallbearers James Vines, Dr. Jennings Owens, Lonnie Mikal Rodgers, Nolan Sesser, Jerry Courtney and Dane McKey.
