ROXIE — Services for James Louie Hickingbottom, 83, of New Hebron, who died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at his residence, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Roxie with the Rev. James T. Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Hickingbottom was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Franklin County, the son of Thomas J. and Ida Bell Nelson Hickingbottom. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Lillie Ann Roberts of Hattiesburg; one son, Karl Hickingbottom of Azusa, Calif.; one granddaughter, Neadra Hickingbottom of Azusa; one grandson, John Roberts Jr. of Hattiesburg; two stepsons, James Wilks Sr. and Calvin Wilks, both of New Hebron; four sisters, Gaynell Hickingbottom of Meadville, Joan Frye of Atlanta, Garyl Eachoel and Ruby Reed, both of Natchez; three brothers, Henry Hickingbottom of Meadville, Bob Hickingbottom of Jackson and Elmore Hickingbottom of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
