VIDALIA — Services for Doris Evans Haynes, 62, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center with Patstor Jerry Dixson officiating. Burial will follow at James Chapel Church Cemetery in Shivers.

Haynes was born Dec. 11, 1948, in Mendenhall, the daughter of Booker T. and Ruby L. Sibby Dixon.

Haynes was a retired store manager for Eckerd Drug Store and a member of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors life, fishing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, David Haynes of Vidalia; one daughter, Deirdra Evans of Canton; two brothers, Pastor Jerry Dixson and wife Marsha of New Orleans; George Dixon and wife Lula of Shivers; three sisters, Linda Cavitt and Pamela Hendricks of Atlanta, and Janice Armstrong and husband James Sr. of Shivers; two grandchildren, Michelle Wilder and Juantarious Green, both of Canton; one godchild, Trishan McCoy of Vidalia; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
