GLOSTER — Graveside services for Evelyn Betz “Blackie” Nelson Ros, 87, a longtime resident of Gloster, who died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Roseland Cemetery with the Rev. Zach Smith officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Mrs. Ros was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Amite County, the daughter of Fred Betz and Clara Byrd Betz. She was employed by Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville and Jeff Davis Hospital as a medical records technician.
She was a member of Woodland Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ros was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby B. Nelson; her second husband, Tom Ros; two grandsons, Mickey H. Nelson and little Spence Robinson; and three sisters, Lucille Harrington, Ruby Walsh and Colice Bankston.
Survivors include one daughter, Keita Robinson and husband, Spencer, of Gloster; two sons, Loren Nelson of Gloster and Mike Nelson of McComb; one stepson, Bobby G. Nelson of Ruth; five grandchildren, Bobby Lee Nelson, Bryan Robinson, Lori Zion, Brax Nelson and Rusty Nelson; two step-grandchildren, Laura Humbles and John Lough; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marceline Hawkins; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brax Nelson, Bobby Lee Nelson, Bryan Robinson, Rusty Nelson, John Lough and Jason Humbles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Clark, Ronnie Clark, Mike Drago and Bill Adams.
