Fall activities usher in good news

Fall activities have certainly picked up steam in the Miss-Lou.
Families looking for a fun weekend had plenty of options, including the Delta Music Festival in Ferriday, Crusin’ on the River in Vidalia, Second Saturday in Natchez and the Celebrate America concert Sunday night.
High school football was in full sprint Friday night, and there was barely time to check on your favorite college teams Saturday.
That variety of activities is what we love about the Miss-Lou though.
Let’s review a few other great things from last week too.
– The American Queen will soon be docking in Natchez once again. The steamboat will make 15 stops in Natchez, giving its passengers more time than ever to explore the area — and spend their dollars with us. The return of the Queen is truly great news for Natchez.
– Trinity Episcopal student Wesley Gore and his fellow Key Club members were busy last week selling 9/11 commemorative bracelets to raise money for Wounded Warriors. The group had raised a large sum of money, midweek, and Gore’s leadership tells us he’s got a bright future ahead.
– A new batch of butterflies will soon be hatching at Morgantown Elementary School, giving students a real, fun way of learning those science lessons. The Natchez-Adams School Board approved a program that will create a butterfly garden, showing our district is ready to teach in new ways.
The coming weeks will continue to be busy, but we know they’ll be good ones.
