NATCHEZ — Services for Barbara Parker, 59, of Inglewood, Calif., who died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Centinela Medical Center in Los Angeles, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. Parker was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Natchez, the daughter of Nola Mae Hunt and James Parker. She was a graduate of Alcorn State University receiving a bachelor’s degree and a graduate of Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., receiving a master’s degree. She was an educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District for a number of years.

Survivors include one daughter, Temeka Parker Royster and husband, Vernon; three sons, Jamar Parker and his fiancée, Kyomi White, Jeremiah Johnson and James Johnson; one granddaughter, Tatiana Ransom; two grandsons, Grant Huff Jr. and Tyree Ransom; 10 siblings, Ethel Grissom, Georgia Demby, James Parker, Charles Parker and wife, Brenda, Diane Symington and husband, Euly, Ruth Steele, Robert Parker, Clarence Parker and wife, Diane, Jerri Darlena Parker and Patricia Brooks; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
