Max and Julia Burns of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Burns to Adam Elliott, son of Steve and Jean Elliott of Decatur, Ala.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. She is employed by ALFA Insurance in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Charles Burns and the late Doris Burns and John and Peggy Smith, all of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Cathedral High School and a graduate of Nashville Automotive Diesel College in Nashville, Tenn. He is employed by Gene Laird Construction Company in Natchez.

He is the grandson of the late Wallace and Jean Elliott of Florence, Ala., and Dorthy Eckl and the late John Eckl of St. Florian, Ala.

A private ceremony will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Chapel at Laurel Hill Plantation in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Carriage House.
