NATCHEZ — A Ferriday man was arrested Friday for allegedly watching pornographic material inside McDonald’s “Play Place” on Seargent S. Prentiss Drive in Natchez where two children were playing.
Ronnie L. Hobbs, 53, 194 Netherland Road, Ferriday, was arrested on charges of public display of sexually-oriented materials, and contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child.
According to a Natchez Police Department report, an officer was dispatched to McDonald’s in regards to a man watching pornographic material. The officer stood outside of the play place and observed Hobbs watching “cartoon pornography pictures.” The officer reported the images could be viewed from the parking lot and drive-thru.
The report said one of the playing children even approached the suspect, and while speaking with him, saw the pornographic material displayed on his computer.
The officer said he made contact with Hobbs inside the restaurant, and Hobbs attempted to log off of his computer.
The suspect admitted he had been addicted to porn for several months, the report said. The two minor children were released into the custody of the suspect’s mother-in-law.
Hobbs’ computer was confiscated with three flash drives, 15 CDs, three composition books and a manila folder containing illicit materials.
