Last week saw a lot of good things

Fall is teasing us at this point, playfully coming out for a few days then retreating when the evil Southern summer says so.
Great temperatures late last week disappeared over the weekend, and it looks like a few rainy days are ahead.
But the heat and forecast of clouds didn’t stop a weekend of fun, and the cooler temperatures late last week just made great even better.
So before we begin a new week, let’s reflect on the last one.
– Grayson Bryant, a seventh-grade student at Cathedral School, has an eye for art, a dedicated personality and a caring heart. Bryant is creating bracelets from soda can tabs, and they look quite nice, we think. She sells them to classmates for $4 each, donating all the profits to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Bryant reminds us that children these days really aren’t all that bad after all. She certainly had a bright future ahead.
– Dozens of dogs brought their owners to the annual Bark in the Park Saturday in support of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society. This event is one of the area’s best, and we thank all the organizers and sponsors who made it happen.
– Approximately 50 people joined in the Great Strides Walk to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Saturday morning, raising $5,000 for CF research. Our community knows how to come together for a good cause, and we hope the local money can make a difference soon.
– The Miss-Lou Regionalism Committee hosted a great community event Saturday, the Live Well in the Miss-Lou River Bridge Run. Congrats to all the finishers.
With a healthy end to last week, we know the week to come will be great.
