MEADVILLE — Services for Alberta P. Oglesby, 87, of Meadville, who died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Seale officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Oglesby was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Alfred Lee Pritchard and Ida Greer Pritchard. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Oglesby was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 45 years (1945-1990) and was very active in Vacation Bible School.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Lee Oglesby Jr. of Sulfur, La., Ronald Dean Oglesby of Knoxville, Tenn., and Stephen Albert Oglesby of Meadville; one daughter, Gail Irene Norman of Meadville; one sister, Ida McCoy of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Renee Mikesell, Darren Lane Oglesby, Eric Samuel Oglesby, Paul Allan Oglesby, David Andrew Oglesby, William Lee Norman, Kayla Celesie McDavid, Jennifer Ann Board, April Michelle Cupit and Louri Rene Newell; and 16 great-grandchildren.
