CARLISLE, Ark. — Carolyn Jackson Rankin, 72, of Carlisle, Ark., formerly of Vidalia, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at her residence.

Arrangements were under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home in Carlisle.

Ms. Rankin was born Aug. 24, 1939, in Quentin, the daughter of Earnie and Selma Case Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Claude Jackson; one sister, Delphine Hammontree; one niece, Beth Foster; and one great-niece, Kristi Foster.

Survivors include two daughters, Micki Hayes and husband, Chuck, of Carlisle and Sharon Mooney and husband, Kirk, of Vidalia; two grandsons, Joshua Mooney of Vidalia and Christopher Hayes of Carlisle; two sisters, Josie Foster and Ernestine Ard, both of Natchez; two nephews, Dean Foster of Natchez and Stephen Ard of Petal; and one niece, Kaye Foster of Palm Harbor, Fla.
