FERRIDAY — Some nostalgic faces will take the field at halftime tonight at Ferriday High School and give Trojan fans and alumni a show for old time’s sake.
Carl Dangerfield, who was the band director at Ferriday High School from 1974 until 2003, said a recently formed Ferriday alumni band will be tonight’s entertainment at intermission.
“They’re bringing back kids who were in the band 35 years ago all the way up to the present,” Dangerfield said. “Everyone has always wanted an alumni band, so the principal (Michelle Bethea) decided to put one together this year.”
Dangerfield said approximately 115 people will be a part of the alumni band, and as of Thursday, they were working to figure out a song selection for the halftime show.
Dangerfield said he was happy to take up the position of director for the alumni band, and he said he’s looking forward to reuniting with his former students.
“It’s so good to see kids that you haven’t seen in 35 to 40 years,” Dangerfield said. “It’s really a pleasure and a privilege to be able to stand in front of the band and (direct).”
Ferriday will host Jennings High School tonight. Kickoff is at 7.
