NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Mamie Mary “Mae” Attas Benson, 100, of Natchez who died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Benson was born Nov. 11, 1910, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Attas. She was formerly employed by the Concordia Parish School Board and by International Paper Company in food service department. During her lifetime she enjoyed cooking, gardening and keeping up with her family.
Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Benson; her parents; and two stepdaughters, Penny Penick and Rose Zynn.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Jack Benson of Natchez, Yvonne Loomas of Plain Dealing, La., and Janet Rose Kennedy of Atlanta, Texas; and 17 step-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brown, Tony Byrne, Julius Cotton, Lynwood Easterling, Floyd Epinette, Chris Newman, Wil Nolan and Spencer Stutzman.
