NATCHEZ — The paddling organizers of next weekend’s Phatwater Kayak Challenge need a few motorized friends to help with the race.
Phatwater founder Keith Benoist said Thursday race organizers need a few additional boats and boat operators who are willing to help with the race’s safety patrol.
Anyone willing to lend a hand — and a boat — is asked to contact Benoist at 601-431-1731.
The Phatwater Kayak Challenge is a 42.5-mile paddling raise that begins in Port Gibson and ends at Natchez Under-the-Hill.
The raise will be Saturday, Oct. 8. Paddlers are expected to reach Natchez a little before noon.
Phatwater organizers still have a few more $50 raffle tickets available for a Terry Vandeventer custom-made Bowie knife. The raffle raises operating funds for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
