Natchez can be like a jigsaw puzzle, sometimes confusing and frustrating.

Sticking with it can take lots of fortitude. The city’s most frustrating aspect — thousands of residents often pulling in different directions — can also be its most important asset.

Just like most cities, Natchez is complex and diverse. But unlike most cities Natchez has an amazing history that spans virtually all of American history.

Each small jagged piece of our history connects with another to create the completed puzzle of our story.

For more than 75 years, our city has utilized the amazing antebellum house puzzle pieces to lure tens of thousands of visitors to our corner of the world.

Historic mansions will always be a huge part of our tourism industry, but it’s interesting to see additional puzzle pieces begin to fall into place.

Future developments at the Forks of Road slavery market site and the development of the Fort Rosalie site will provide key puzzle pieces to help connect the decades together for tourist and visitors alike.

After years of staring at the blank spots on the puzzle, we’re thrilled that the final pieces of the complete history products built for tourism and education are finally falling into place.

In the end, all of the frustration will be worth it when the puzzle is completed.
