MEADVILLE — The Franklin County Lady Bulldogs will have momentum and the home field advantage on their side today in the first round of the MHSAA Class 3A South State Playoffs.

Game 1 will start at 4:30 p.m. Game 2 gets under way at approximately 6 p.m. If there is a third and deciding game, it will begin soon after the completion of Game 2.

The Lady Bulldogs will take a 17-5 overall record and a No. 6 ranking in the High School Sports in Mississippi Class 3A poll into their best-of-three series against the Region 5-3A runner-up Southeast Lauderdale Lady Tigers from Meridian.

Franklin County’s slow-pitch softball team, led by head coach Dana Smith, ran the table in Region 7-3A, going 6-0 on its way to winning the region championship.
