Waterproof resident charged with rape

Vidalia — A man from Waterproof was charged Monday with aggravated rape and carnal knowledge of a juvenile, Vidalia Police Department investigator and juvenile officer Renda Singleton said.

Singleton said James L. Dykes III, 19, 59 Duck Pond Road, Waterproof, was charged after allegedly performing sexual acts on a 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl. Singleton said no bond has been set for Dykes.

Singleton said no further information on the investigation could be provided.
