HAMBURG — Services for William Odie Bonds, 72, of Hamburg, who died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hamburg Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Bonds was born Dec. 10, 1939, in Oldenburg, the son of Odie Lee Bonds and Willie Mae Cole Bonds. He was employed as an oilfield worker.

Mr. Bonds was a member of Hamburg Baptist Church and served as Sunday school teacher of the Men’s Adult Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Douglas Bonds.

Survivors include four sons, Wendall Keith Bonds, William Wade Bonds, Kenneth Ward Bonds and Odie Lynn Bonds, all of Roxie; one sister, Crecia Bonds Webb of Prattville, Ala.; two aunts, Mildred Hester of Moss Point and Lucille Hall of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
